Interesting concept and well designed demo! There is a lot of mechanics to learn and keep and mind but the tutorial does a great job introducing each mechanic at a steady pace. I like the puzzle designs a lot, they’re well thought out!

There is a part of me that feels that the game is a little held back by the limitations of actions. (How many times you can use C.L.A.R.A and Code) Experimenting to find solutions is a rewarding experience in this type of game. But when you only get so many tries before you have to start the entire level over, I can see it becoming a bit grating to some players.

Spoiler for a puzzle here:

There’s a puzzle on the rooftop which I thought could be solved one way by changing the pad lock’s password but it didn’t work at all. I had used up my last code ammo thing and I found myself stuck. (If this was a bug and it was supposed to work that way then, I’m happy it would have worked that way!) It’s only then I realized (*coughs* looked up your playthrough) that I had to use the camera on the other side to see something specific on a wall to find the code. If there are other solutions to this puzzle, then that’s great! (And I just need to exert my brain noodles a bit more lol) But being punished by having to start the entire level over seems like an over punishment for trying out different solutions. One argument against this could be that it forces the player to think before they act. But if the player isn’t 100% sure of what will happen when they execute a certain action then it ends up being punishing and tedious. This is just a demo so there could be significant changes to the game but it would be nice to have a sort of “infinite” mode. That way a player’s time wouldn’t be wasted by having to replay parts of the level they already know how to solve. Although, it’s easy for me to nitpick about this sort of stuff, if this is the way it was intended to be then so be it. I wouldn’t want the game to cater to my every expectation, otherwise it’d be a completely different game made for only one person in mind.

I still had a fun experience with the game and I think there’s great potential. Wish you guys best of luck and I hope you keep the great work!

Thanks, man!

I just saw your gameplay, I love it haha.

Yeah, my beta testers told me that the game really needs saving points because it's very tedious to have to do everything once you're wrong, I have an idea of how to do it so I'll probably upload a patch adding them. I will consider adding an "easy mode" in which the fragments are infinite.

I will also add some notes in the tutorial about mechanics that are implicit, for example, to select an object in CODE mode just click on it, you don't need to search for its ID, and you don't you need to type the "AddCLARA" command, by pressing F3, if you don't have any CLARA, you'll automatically spend a fragment to create her.

Thanks for the review, I will take it into account :)
